Deltas for Global Change: We Bleed Red

The Pi Theta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recently hosted an impactful event titled "Deltas for Global Change: We Bleed Red" to raise awareness and address the critical issue of period poverty. This event, held in collaboration with Period. The Menstrual Movement, aimed to educate attendees about the challenges faced by individuals who cannot afford menstrual products, a dire reality for many around the world.

The evening kicked off with an engaging presentation led by representatives from the Period. organization, who shared insightful statistics and stories highlighting the extent and impact of period poverty globally. The audience was provided with a comprehensive understanding of how lacking access to menstrual products can affect an individual's education, health, and overall well-being.

Following the informative session, the event transitioned into interactive workshops where participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities. One of the highlights was the creation of menstrual product pouches. These pouches, filled with essential items, were designed to be distributed to those in need, ensuring they have access to necessary menstrual products. Additionally, attendees learned how to make DIY heating packs, a simple yet effective tool for managing menstrual discomfort.

Throughout the event, there was a palpable sense of community and a shared commitment to making a difference. The discussions were enriched by questions and stories shared by attendees, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

The "Deltas for Global Change: We Bleed Red" event not only shed light on the pressing issue of period poverty but also empowered participants to take actionable steps towards making menstrual health accessible to all.
