Interested in reading more books written by Black women? Been a while since you simply read for pleasure? Eager to get started on your 2020 reading goal?

Join our Well-Read Black Girl Book Club! Well-Read Black Girl is a nationwide book club and affinity space founded by Glory Edim for Black women readers and writers to connect and grow in conversation. Since its creation, many WRBG book clubs have been established across the U.S. and through online communities.

In our efforts to promote Black cultural and historical literacy through the Bridging the Gap program, we have partnered with Still North Books to start a Well-Read Black Girl Book Club on our own campus. This book club is open to all self-identifying Black women, genderqueer, and non-binary folks at Dartmouth and the surrounding Hanover area, including students, staff, and faculty. Each term, Pi Theta will choose a book from the WRBG reading list as well as supporting articles that are relevant to the novel. Our book club will meet once a month at Still North Books to discuss, reflect, and learn from each other.

Our 20W book is Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid, a debut novel about race and privilege set around a young Black babysitter and her well-intentioned employer. Read the Goodreads synopsis and reviews here.
