Boot{y} Camp Recap

In the fall of 19F, the Pi Theta Chapter launched its inaugural Get Lit Get Fit event: Boot{y} Camp. Dartmouth students met at the Alumni Gym on a Saturday morning for a full-body circuit with a focus on the glutes. Complete with a warmup, workout, and cooldown, Boot{y} Camp was led by one of Dartmouth’s very own fitness coordinators and trainers, Theresa Hernandez.

We set out to have an event in which women of color would feel comfortable in their bodies while feeling supported regardless of where they were in their health and fitness journey. Each attendee was given a raffle ticket and at the end of the workout, three names were drawn for our fitness starter packs which consisted of an insulated water bottle, workout headbands, resistance bands, and a meal and workout plan from Fitness by Momi. Fitness by Momi is a health and fitness brand founded by a fellow Dartmouth student Momi Tolentino with the goal of guiding those on their fitness journeys through custom, holistic plans that incorporate lifestyle, food, and fitness.

Given the amount of Fun, Fitness, and Fellowship that was had at this event, the Dartmouth Campus--as well as the ladies of Pi Theta-- cannot wait to see the return of Booty Camp. In the meantime, we look forward to more Get Lit Get Fit events and programming!
